The volunteers who did such an incredible job in the aftermath of last November’s storm were recognised by Emergency Services Minister Neil Roberts, who chose to launch this year’s Storm Season at the Ashgrove Baptist Church.
The church was a vital hub for local residents in those terrible weeks after the storm, and I was delighted that it was recognised, along with the SES and Red Cross volunteers, and all the private citizens who jumped in to lend a hand to their neighbours.
